Rhind Lectures 2010 recorded

The Society is proud to present free online recordings of the prestigious 2010 Rhind Lectures presented by Professor Martin Carver on "Design vs Dogma: Reflections on Field Archaeology"
The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland is continuing to video record the prestigious Rhind Lectures and present them free to view on the internet.
The lectures are available to download by clicking here.
The 2010 lectures include the introduction from Dr Barbara Crawford, President of the Society, all six lectures, the question and answer sessions held after certain of the lectures and the final vote of thanks by Vice President Ian Ralston.
The software and hardware used for these recordings was purposefully chosen for its cost-effectiveness. Camtasia software allows the recording of whatever is on a computer screen synchronised with what is being recorded by a webcam or similar device. We used a Logitech Quickcam mounted on the lectern. The recordings were then edited to ensure the screen information was visible where necessary then converted to MP4 files and loaded to Screencast where they can be viewed.
We hope to continue to use this technology to video record future Rhind lectures, and other events where possible. The Society has a charitable aim of making information as widely available as possible, and we hope that this, in some small way, is a service to all those who cannot make it to Edinburgh or Aberdeen where the majority of our lectures and conferences are held.
