Society Heritage Hub Project: Public Workshop

15th April 2024 | Categories: Consultation, Uncategorised, Up and coming events

Earlier this year, we commissioned the consultancy Horizons Research to gather a wide range of thoughts and ideas from many people on our plan to purchase and develop a nearby building to serve as a new office space for the Society, a meeting place for Fellows, and a space for events, workshops, and much more.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to actively engage with and benefit from Scotland’s heritage and so we want to better understand what more the Society and the proposed building can do for the wider public and for heritage in Edinburgh, Scotland and beyond. Improving accessibility and inclusion is a strategic priority for the Society and the building purchase and redevelopment offers an exciting and transformational opportunity to deliver this.

Come along to our first public in-person workshop on Friday 19 April in central Edinburgh to share your ideas and experiences to help us better understand how to design and redevelop the building to make sure it is as inclusive and accessible as possible.

You can read more about the project and other opportunities to get involved on the project website.
