We are delighted to open bookings for our annual Summer Excursion from Tuesday 9 – Wednesday 10 September 2025 to Kilmartin Glen in Argyll, one of Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscapes.

This trip will give Fellows the opportunity to get to know one another and will offer a fascinating insight into the lives of people who inhabited this area over the last 12,000 years.

What’s Included

Return coach travel from Edinburgh to Kilmartin Glen (with a pick-up on route in Balloch) 

• Visits to other historic locations on route 
• Dinner, bed and breakfast and one night at the 4-star Loch Melfort Hotel 
• Private guided tour at Kilmartin Museum 
• Walking tour of historic sites in Kilmartin Glen 

Ticket Prices

This event will not be open to the general public, but each Fellow is permitted to bring one non-Fellow guest (see here if you would like to know more about becoming a Fellow to enjoy exclusive events like these in the future).

The following prices include accommodation, return coach travel, guided group tours, dinner, lunch & breakfast:

• Fellow ticket price for a double/twin room (with two people sharing) – £250 each 
• Fellow ticket price for a single room – £300 
• Non-Fellow guest ticket price for a double/twin room (with two people sharing) – £285 each 
• Non-Fellow guest ticket price for a single room – £335

In your email please note the following information:

• which ticket type you would like to book
• whether you would like a double, twin or single room at the hotel (if you would like a double or twin room, please also include the name of the person with whom you will be sharing a room)
