Our Fellows – Sharat Buddhavarapu
Sharat Buddhavarapu is a software consultant by way of an M.S. in Book History from the University of Edinburgh and a B.A. in English Literature from Allegheny College.
He loves exploring intellectual history and its often-unacknowledged impact on the present. A work experience with the Society, which involved helping to update the metadata for the digital archives of its journal, led him down a rabbit hole of early Fellows and their contributions to our explorations of the Scottish past.
He joined the Society to stay in touch with that cultural heritage, a heritage of nearly two and a half centuries of unbroken engagement with Scotland’s past.

“My favourite part of being a Fellow is the regular schedule of talks and lectures, which never fail to throw up surprising and illuminating ways of looking at history.”
