Who Are Our Fellows? – Wayne R. Makin

Our Fellows – Wayne R. Makin

Wayne R. Makin is an experienced business leader and CEO with a strong background in traffic management, safety compliance, and operational excellence.

Passionate about community engagement and Scottish heritage, he also plays an active role in Scottish cultural and historical organisations, fostering connections between tradition and modern industry.

Wayne joined the Society to deepen his lifelong passion for preserving and understanding Scottish heritage, particularly the enduring legacy of Clan culture and the rich tapestry of Scotland’s historical landscape.

His commitment to the retention and celebration of Scottish traditions stems from a personal connection to his ancestry and a belief in the importance of protecting historical knowledge for future generations.

Through the Society, he seeks to contribute to ongoing research, cultural preservation, and the promotion of Scotland’s remarkable past.

“One of my favourite parts of being a Fellow is engaging with the Society’s rich publications and research, which deepen my connection to Scotland’s history and heritage.”

“I value the opportunity to build stronger networks with like-minded Fellows in Australia, fostering shared knowledge and collaboration.”
