How to Apply

New Fellows are put forward for election once a year at our Anniversary Meeting on the St Andrew’s Day 30th November. The annual application deadline is the 1st September.

To be eligible for election you will need two existing Fellows, or referees, who can confirm your commitment to the study and understanding of Scotland’s past.

If you do not know any existing Fellows please contact director@socantscot.org well in advance of the September deadline. We can accept references from people in a position to know of, and appreciate, your interest in history and archaeology, provided that they tell us something about themselves and their experience.

You can apply online, or download the editable pdf Fellowship Application Form . Once completed please post forms to Director, Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, National Museums Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1JFby the 1st September.

Please make sure your form is signed by your sponsors or referees and, if necessary, references are enclosed with your application. Your application will be treated in confidence and, if accepted, you will be put forward for election at the Anniversary Meeting on St Andrew’s Day in November. If it is not accepted you will be notified immediately.
