Dear Fellows,
Below is an inquiry from Fellow Hector MacQueen CBE FBA FRSE FSAScot:
“In a 2006 publication Lawrence Keppie wrote that that “Surprisingly there is as yet no direct {Roman] link confirmed from Crawford (or Lamington) to the important fort at Castledykes, for example along the Clyde itself past Thankerton on the line of the A73 … though such a route is reported by the antiquarian writers” (Legacy of Rome: Scotland’s Roman Remains, p 98). Has any work been done on this since 2006?
Many thanks”
If anyone could provide any assistance, please contact Hector at Hector.MacQueen@ed.ac.uk.
Best wishes.
