FELLOWS-ONLY TOUR: Dunblane

This exclusive tour will escort Fellows around three historic sites in Dunblane.

Dunblane Cathedral is a stunning medieval marvel that stands on a site that has been sacred for well over 1,000 years. It features a 12th-century red sandstone tower with magnificent Gothic architecture and houses ancient Pictish stones, pristine 15th-century choir stalls, and a peaceful, serene interior.

Leighton Library is Scotland’s oldest purpose-built independent library. Established in 1687, this category-A listed gem houses over 4,500 rare books, including volumes dating back to 1504. It was founded on the collection of Robert Leighton, Bishop of Dunblane, 1661-1670, who was later Archbishop of Glasgow, 1670-1674.

Located in the 17th-century Dean’s House, Dunblane Museum explores the town’s history. Its exhibits range from a 4,000-year-old prehistoric necklace and cathedral artefacts to modern memorabilia honouring tennis champions Andy and Jamie Murray.

Places for this free, in-person, small group tour are strictly limited to 15 people and are available on a first come, first served basis.
