Dear Fellows,

To celebrate our shared history, Fellows of the Society benefit from free entry to ticketed Scottish history or archaeology-themed exhibitions at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, which includes Roman Scotland: Life on the Edge of Empire. 

This exhibition will reshape our understanding of Scotland’s relationship with the Roman world. It will bring the military communities of Rome’s most northern frontier to life through new research, significant loans from across Europe, and previously unseen archaeological discoveries. 

The exhibition runs from Saturday 14 November 2026 to Sunday 18 April 2027 in Exhibition Gallery 1 at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street.  

Fellows can use the promotional code FSAScot to receive a free ticket to the exhibition. This is an exclusive benefit for Fellows of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. Please do not share the promo code.  

How Many Times Can I Use the Code to Visit the Exhibition?  

Fellows can visit the exhibition an unlimited number of times using the code. 

Do I Need to Bring Personal ID? 

Yes, please ensure that you bring a form of personal identification as National Museum of Scotland staff may confirm your Fellowship using our Public List of Fellows. If you have opted out from your name appearing on this list, please contact fellowship@socantscot.org at least 72 hours before your visit so that we may inform National Museums Scotland staff.  

How Do I Use the Code? 

Follow the instructions below to book your tickets.  

Booking Online

Fellows can book their ticket in advance online by visiting the Roman Scotland exhibition webpage on the National Museums Scotland website:

1. Click ‘Book Now’
2. Type the promo code FSAScot into the promo code field at the top of the Calendar page (pictured below) and click ‘Submit’
3. Select the date and complete the rest of the booking process to receive your ticket

Please note that the code allows Fellows to claim one free ticket per order. If you are planning to visit with other Fellows, they are required to order their free ticket separately. 

Booking In Person 

Booking in person can be done at any of the National Museum of Scotland reception desks in the Entrance Hall or exhibition area using the code FSAScot, subject to availability for the desired timeslot.

Booking Over the Phone

Booking using the code FSAScot can be made over the phone by calling National Museums Scotland on 0300 123 6789 (option 1) any day of the week from 10am to 5pm (UK time).
