Fellows Discount for ‘Carved in Stone’
Dear Fellows,
We are pleased to offer Fellows an exclusive 25% discount on Carved in Stone: A Storyteller’s Guide to the Picts. Packed with information on the weather, languages, settlements, cuisine, fashion, medicine, skills and more, this guide presents cutting-edge research in over 160 pages with more than 350 historically informed illustrations.
The project was led by Brian Tyrrell of Stout Stoat Press, an Edinburgh-based games-and-book publisher, and ArchaeoPlays’ Dr Heather Christie FSAScot, an archaeologist, gamer and YouTuber, in partnership with the Society’s Dig It! project.

Until midnight (UK time) on 31 August 2026, Fellows can use the code SOCANTSCOT2026 at checkout to receive 25% off (postage not included).
UK, EU, INTL and Digital USA orders will be dispatched as received. Tracking information (where relevant) will be provided by Royal Mail.
Physical USA orders will be dispatched from Indie Press Revolution, located within the USA. Batches of orders will be passed to IPR on August 15th and 31st, and IPR will provide you with tracking information from there.
We hope you enjoy reading what National Museums Scotland’s Dr Adrián Maldonado described as ‘basically the best book on the Picts ever written’ and if you want to know more about the process of bringing the Picts to life, you can watch or listen to the Society’s December 2025 lecture on YouTube or Spotify.
Sincerely,
Astrid Bridgwood
