September is Scottish Archaeology Month
Dear Fellows,
1 September marks the first day of Scottish Archaeology Month (SAM), a national festival by Archaeology Scotland celebrating our country’s diverse and unique heritage. Building on more than 30 years of success, SAM is the biggest annual celebration of Scottish heritage, history and archaeology.
Importantly, SAM is an element of European Heritage Month, a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission that encourages people to interact with their history and archaeology and celebrates shared European cultural links and heritage.
This year, SAM presents a robust events programme with a wide array of opportunities to connect with Scotland’s past, ranging from exhibitions to walks to guided tours. The programme can be viewed in full online on the Archaeology Scotland website.
Many thanks,
Astrid Bridgwood
Fellowship & Administration Officer
