Based in Glasgow, Louise achieved her BA (Hons) in History at the University of Strathclyde in 2016, where her dissertation explored feminism and inequalities in Scotland from 1970 onwards. Throughout her career Louise has volunteered in a variety of different roles, including Girlguiding Scotland and the Scottish Association of Mental Health.

Before joining the Society in September 2026 as Make Your Mark Campaign Coordinator, she built a career in Volunteer and Community Development across various roles in national charities and Third Sector Interfaces, developing a particular passion for equality, diversity and inclusion.

Louise now leads the delivery of the Make Your Mark campaign, supporting organisations across Scotland to create more inclusive volunteering opportunities, grow participation in heritage volunteering, and champion the positive impact volunteer can have on people and communities.

Favourite heritage: Modern Scottish social history, the history of feminism and social change, community heritage projects and Skara Brae, Orkney.
