We are thrilled to share that Dr Simon Gilmour FSAScot, Director of the Society, and I will be travelling to Atlanta and New York in October, with planning for a visit to Los Angeles in the next few months also underway.

Atlanta | 16–19 October 

We are delighted to be attending the Stone Mountain Highland Games and invite you to find us at our tent throughout the weekend. Additionally, please join us in Clan Tent #2 at 2:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday, when we will be talking about the Society, our work and our ambitions for the future. If you would like more information, please contact me and I will keep you in the loop.   

We are also thrilled to be joining the Annual Fellows Dinner Meeting in Atlanta this October, kindly organised by Hope Vere Anderson FSAScot, on Saturday 17 October at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast hotel. 

• Arrival time and cocktails: 6:00 pm (EDT) 

• Dinner, programme and speakers: 6:30-8:30 pm (EDT) 

• Cost: $85 per person 

A specially arranged Scottish menu and programme have been planned for the evening. Final numbers need to be confirmed with the hotel, so if you would like to attend or find out more, please get in touch with Hope ASAP at hopeanderson@btinternet.com. 

New York | 20–24 October 

Our visit will then take us to New York for The Isle of Lewis Chess Pieces Exposed, a special presentation held in conjunction with the American Scottish Foundation on the evening of 21 October. 

Join former President of the Society Dr David Caldwell HonFSAScot and current Society Director Dr Simon Gilmour FSAScot for a fascinating exploration of these iconic Scottish artefacts. Together, we will discover why, despite almost 200 years of study, the last word on the Lewis chess pieces has not yet been said.

Los Angeles | Final Dates TBC 

Though plans for Los Angeles are still being finalised, we are working on some exciting opportunities to bring together Fellows, friends and supporters of the Society. We will share full details very shortly. If you would like to be contacted when this information is confirmed, please let me know and I will add you to the mailing list.
