Newsflash!

The Runestone is now on the move….

Thanks to the great team work and support of all project partners* over the past few months during the Year of History, Heritage and Art (HHA 2017) we are delighted to announce the ancient Runestone has now been excavated and lifted out of the ground.

Today, AOC Archaeology’s expert crew, carefully removed the Runestone from the side of Edinburgh’s Castle Rock. Over the next few weeks AOC Archaeology will assess and conserve the Runestone, before moving it to a new location.

Watch this space for more news on the Runestone and the various public events we have in store over the next couple of months.
