Raised the United States, Astrid is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, where she researched ceramic production in the American South. She moved to Edinburgh in 2024 to pursue her MSc is Modern & Contemporary Art: History, Curating, & Criticism with the University of Edinburgh, and began work in Edinburgh’s commercial art sector. There, she developed an interest in Scottish abstract and modern artists before joining the Society as Fellowship & Administration Officer in 2026. She remains involved with the Scottish Society for Art History, and publishes regularly with Art-Scot.

Favourite heritage: Scottish Redware, 20th-century Scottish abstraction, contemporary Scottish pottery
