Deborah joined the Society in March 2025 as Head of Fundraising. She originally completed a BSc in Archaeology at the University of Glasgow in 1991 before completing an MSc in Archaeology and Property Development at Bournemouth University. After excavating for a few years across the UK and Europe, in 1995 she moved into the private sector and held various roles in business development and marketing. In 2004, she moved into the Third Sector as Fundraising Manager for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland where she progressed to Head of Fundraising and then Director of Fundraising in 2011. Over the 21 years working for the charity, she significantly grew income, generating over £22 million and raising capital funds for a family support centre.
Favourite heritage: Machrie Moor Standing Stones in Scotland, and Stonehenge and Avebury in England
