Publications awards: 2018 submissions
We are now welcoming submissions for volume 148 of the Proceedings. The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2018, but we recommend submitting as early as possible. Papers can be on any subject surrounding Scotland’s heritage, history or archaeology. Please visit bit.ly/PSASsubmit for information about submitting an article.
This year, we also invite submissions for the Murray Medal for History and the Chalmers Jervise Award. Both prizes are awarded biennially to recognise original research (published in the Proceedings) on the history of Scotland in the medieval and early modern periods, and the best article (published in the Proceedings) relating to the archaeology or history of Scotland before AD 1100 respectively.
Don’t forget, the R B K Stevenson Award is also awarded annually for the article (published in the Proceedings) on a topic that best reflects the scholarship and high standards of R B K Stevenson, former Keeper of the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland, and President of the Society between 1975 and 1978.
Further information on all the Society’s awards on the Grants and Awards page can be found at www.socantscot.org/grants-awards, or by contacting the Managing Editor. You can also download the call for submissions flyers for each prize below.
